2. Installation Questions

What tools are required for installation?

Ladder, Stud Finder, Tape Measure, Pencil, Safety Glasses.

Philips Screwdriver, 7/16" Combination Wrench, 1/4" Drill Bit, Power Drill, 1/2" Socket, Socket Ratchet Driver. (Optional Tools: 1/2" Nut Driver Bit, Power Impact Driver)

Is the system compatible with drywall and metal joists/studs?

No, the platform must be installed into wooden ceiling joists

How do I find my joist spacing?

Most homes use 16 in. or 24 in. on-center joist spacing. Use a stud finder or magnet to locate your garage ceiling joists and mark the center of the joists. Measure the on-center spacing. Refer to the joist diagrams in instruction manual. The motor rails can be mounted across two joists or on the same joist in two surfaces. Make sure your marks clearly show the center(s) where the rails will be installed.

How do I locate my ceiling joists?

Use a stud finder and mark the center of the joist(s). The motor rails can be mounted across two joists or on the same joist using two screws. Make sure your marks clearly show the centerline(s) where the rails will be installed.

How do I mount the motor rails?

Align rails to the center of joist marks, mark the holes, using the 1/4"drill bit, drill pilot hole, align rail with the predrilled holes, insert washer onto lag bolt, using the 1/2" socket fasten lag bolt into ceiling joist. Make sure Lag Bolt is flush and tight to Ceiling . Do not overtighten.

How do I install the motors onto the rails?

Slide each motor into the rail hook curves and lock with the cotter pin.

No. Never walk under the platform while it is lifting or lowering.

How should my pulleys and carabiners be attached to the platform?

Can the lift be used to lift people or pets?

No.

Can I overload the lift?

The platform weights were tested specifically for the evenly distributed weights identified.

· 4'x4' Platform with motors: 370 lbs

· 4'x6' Platform with motors: 360 lbs

· 4'x8' Platform with motors: 350 lb

Do I need to inspect the system?

Yes. We recommend you periodically inspect cables, pulleys, decking, bolts, and hardware.

5. Multi-Purpose Lift Product Specifications

How much weight can the Multi-Purpose Lifter hold?

Single Motor Multi-Purpose Lifter: 100 lb weight capacity

Double Motor Multi-Purpose Lifter: 200 lb weight capacity

Is the weight capacity per pulley or for the entire system?

The weight ratings apply to the complete lifting system.

Each pulley is rated for up to 100 lbs., and when used together (for the double motor system) it provides a combined lifting capacity of 200 lbs.

Do not exceed the rated load capacity.

What clearance is required to store my bike?

The required clearance depends on the size of your bike and the height of your ceiling.

To determine if your bike will fit:

Minimum Ceiling Height Required = Bike Height + 12–18 inches

The additional clearance allows room for the lifting straps, hooks, and safe operation of the lifting system.

Examples:

· Road Bike (40" tall): Approximately 52"–58" of clearance required

· Mountain Bike (44" tall): Approximately 56"–62" of clearance required

· Electric Bike (48" tall): Approximately 60"–66" of clearance required

Always measure your bike at its tallest point and ensure sufficient clearance above any vehicles, shelving, or stored items.

What types of items can be stored with the Multi-Purpose Lifter?

The Multi-Purpose Lifter is designed to store a wide variety of garage and recreational equipment, including:

· Bicycles

· Electric Bikes (E-Bikes)

· Ladders

· Kayaks

· Paddleboards

· Cargo Carriers

· Storage Totes

· Camping Equipment

· Seasonal Gear

· Other bulky items within the rated weight capacity

Can I lift an electric bike?

Yes.

The Multi-Purpose Lifter is suitable for most electric bikes, provided the combined weight of the bike, battery, accessories, and any attached gear does not exceed 200 lbs.

Because electric bikes are typically heavier than standard bicycles, verify that the bike is properly balanced before lifting.

Can this be installed above my vehicle?

Yes. The Multi-Purpose Lifter can be installed above a vehicle, provided:

· The mounting location is structurally sound.

· The system is installed according to the installation instructions.

· Adequate clearance exists between the stored item and the vehicle.

Always verify that the load is securely attached before lifting or lowering.

6. Multi-Purpose Lift Safety

Safety Reminders

· Never exceed the 200 lb. maximum weight capacity.

· Always inspect straps, hooks, pulleys, and mounting hardware before use.

· Never stand directly beneath a suspended load.

· Test-load items a few inches off the ground before lifting to full height.

· Keep children and bystanders away while operating the system.

· Lower loads immediately if excessive shifting or instability occurs.

How do I balance uneven loads?

To balance an uneven load, adjust the strap positions until the weight is distributed as evenly as possible.

1. Attach the straps securely.

2. Lift the item a few inches off the ground.

3. Observe how the load hangs.

4. Identify any side that hangs lower than the other.

5. Lower the load and reposition one or both straps.

6. Repeat until the load hangs level and stable.

For irregularly shaped items, multiple adjustments may be necessary to find the optimal balance point.

Important: If the load shifts or tilts excessively, lower it immediately and readjust the straps before continuing.

How do I attach the straps to my bike?

For most bicycles, route the strap through the wheel spokes and around a strong section of the bike frame near the lifting point.

1. Attach one D-ring to the lifting hook.

2. Feed the strap through the wheel spokes closest to the hook.

3. Attach the second D-ring to the hook.

4. Confirm the bike is balanced before lifting.

5. Ensure the strap is not pressing against brake lines, shifters, cables, batteries, or other delicate components.

Tip: Position the straps near the bike's center of gravity to keep it level while lifting and storing.

Where should the straps contact the bike frame?

Through the wheel spokes

How do I properly secure an item to the straps?

To safely secure an item to the Multi-Purpose Lifter, use either the included 4 ft. or 10 ft. strap, depending on the size and shape of the item.

1. Attach one of the strap's D-rings to the lifting hook.

2. Allow enough slack to wrap the strap securely around the item.

3. Bring the opposite end of the strap back to the hook and attach the second D-ring to either the same side or opposite side of the hook, depending on the item's size and balance requirements.

4. Verify that the strap is centered and the load is properly balanced before lifting.

The attachment method may vary based on the item's dimensions, weight distribution, and lifting orientation. Always ensure the load is secure and stable before raising it.

Warning: Never stand directly beneath a suspended load. Always inspect straps, hooks, and attachment points before each use. Do not exceed the rated weight capacity of the Multi-Purpose Lifter.
